It’s been five months since Asus first tickled our hardcore gaming fancies with its G1 and G2 laptops – time enough for hardware and operating systems to move swiftly on, so both units are now getting a timely revamp.Itching to be your next LAN-party date will be the new 15in G1S and 17in G2S (pictured), which get even more frag-happy Nvidia GeForce 8600M graphics cards and Intel Core 2 Duo T7500 processors, alongside their Vista Premium OS, 160GB hard disk and 2GB of RAM helpings. That’s on top of the G range’s specially highlighted W, A, S, and D keys, extra OLED display for in-game instant messaging and cunningly placed ‘surround sound’ speakers. No prices as yet, but you can pick up the current G1 from £1250.
