Cases for Apple iPhone 5S and 5C unveiled
With new iPhones come new ways to stop yourself from ruining them with your butterfingers
Alongside today’s launch of the iPhone 5S and 5C, Apple unveiled a collection of new protective cases.
The hole picture
The iPhone 5C cases are a bit of a head-scratcher. They’re made of silicone lined with soft microfibre and come in the same five colours as the iPhone 5C (pink, green, blue, white and yellow) plus black, which is fine, but their Connect 4-style perforated back is a little odd: for one thing it partially obscures the “iPhone” logo to that it appears to say “nori”. Still, it’ll stop the polycarbonate body getting scratched by your keys, which is probably the main thing. The cases are £25 each.
Leather luxury
The iPhone 5S cases are a little less puzzling in their looks. Covering the entire back and edges of the phone, they’re made from microfibre-lined leather and available in beige, black, blue, brown, yellow and red. They’re £35 apiece.
