Prepare your eyes for 4K laptops in 2013
Move over, Retina display – Ultra HD displays are expected to start appearing on laptops later this year
4K TVs like the LG 84in 4K 3D TV are barely off the production line – but already there’s talk of Ultra HD laptops arriving later in 2013.
According to DigiTimes’ “industry sources,” both Innolux Corporation and Samsung Display are working on Ultra HD screens for release later in the year. Samsung Display will mass-produce 13.3in and 15.6in Ultra HD notebook panels in the second half of this year.
With Toshiba reportedly working on a 4K laptop for release in 2013, it’s looking increasingly likely that the next generation of screens will be arriving sooner rather than later – which will leave Apple’s MacBook Pro with Retina display looking a little fuzzy. Now we just need to upgrade our eyes and we’ll be ready.
