Destiny: The Taken King gets its own gorgeous PlayStation 4 console

It'll have fans starry-eyed - and probably considering a double dip on PS4 systems

When Destiny released last autumn, new PlayStation 4 buyers had the option of picking up a bundle with the slick Glacier White version of the console (with the game included) – but Sony and Activision are going bigger for this fall’s expansion.

Releasing alongside Destiny: The Taken King this fall is a white 500GB Limited Edition PlayStation 4 console that features the game’s map of the cosmos printed in silver, along with the Guardian’s crest emblazoned at the center in gold. A white DualShock 4 controller is included, as well.

You’ll also get the game, of course, and it’s the Legendary Edition – so that includes the full game of Destiny, as well as the two earlier expansions and The Taken King. The bundle also includes an upgrade to the Digital Collector’s Edition, which offers exotic Guardian class items, class-specific emotes, armour shaders, and early access to a weapons pack.

The bundle will be available on 15 September alongside the expansion itself, and for those of you who don’t like limited edition or extremely attractive, fan-centric hardware (who are you?), Sony will also have a standard bundle with a Jet Black PlayStation 4 and DualShock 4. Amazon has the limited edition bundle listed for £400; no word yet on the standard one.

If you’re less concerned about an exclusive console colour scheme and would rather have ample storage, also know that the PlayStation 4 Ultimate Player Edition – with a 1TB hard drive inside (but no games included) – will hit stores on 15 July, and it’s listed for £330-340 at various retailers.
