Chipping your console is a tricky old business. Take the PS2, for instance. There are probably as many chipped PS2s in existence as there are unchipped – but Sony doesn’t like it. The company’s stopped a number of retailers chipping Sony consoles. To make your chipping dilemma far easier, online game accessories retailer Mr Modchips is selling the Memor 32 – a mod chip built into a PS2 memory card complete with USB ports for easy file flinging. None of that fancy soldering – you just plug ‘n play.Like the DIY chips, the Memor 32 allows PS2 owners to back up their save games on a PC, as well as loading up backed-up games and homebrew software. The uses are endless, we suspect. Quite what Sony will make of it remains to be seen. We bet they’ll be cross. But if you’re willing to do a Trevor Simon, aka Run The Risk, then you can pick one up for £35. Essentials Memor 32 PlayStation 2 mod chip Price: £35 On sale: Out now Contact: Mr Modchips
