First-gen Apple iPod is resurrected in your browser

Fancy a trip down iMemory lane? What better way than virtually scrolling your way through the black and white menus of the original iPod?

Artist Pritesh Desai has taken it upon himself to shower us with nostalgia by virtually recreating the very first iPod.

Available here, the faithful resurrection lets you scroll through the original menus and even play a tune or too, though sadly you can’t add your own tracks.

It’s a stark contrast to the latest iPod Touch 5G and shows just how far we’ve come since the original revolutionary jukebox-in-your-pocket.

As for us? We’re looking forward to playing around with a virtual tribute to the clunky iPod Touch 5G in another 11 years’ time, although by that point we might just be able to 3D print a working version of our own. We hope.
