Fully Charged: Amazon’s one-hour deliveries expand in UK, and LG Pay service confirmed

Amazon Prime Now expands in UK

After recently expanding to Greater London and parts of Herfordshire and Berkshire, Amazon has just brought Prime same-day delivery to an array of other UK locations. Joining the list this week are Birmingham, Bristol, Dudley, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Milton Keynes, Northampton, Walsall, and Wolverhampton. Prime Now orders placed by noon local time will be delivered free between 6pm and 10pm the same day, seven days a week.

Even better, you can also get Prime Now one-hour delivery in Newcastle, as well as some postcodes in Durham, Gateshead, and Sunderland. You’ll have to pay £7 for the one-hour window, or you can get free delivery if you don’t mind waiting two agonizing hours.

LG Pay announced

As rumoured last month, LG has announced its own mobile payments program for its smartphones. Dubbed LG Pay – surprise! – the service will premiere first in the company’s home country of South Korea, with partners Shinhan Card and KB Kookmin Card onboard.

No word yet on when to expect an international launch to compete with the likes of Android Pay, Samsung Pay, and Apple Pay, but an LG spokesperson told TechCrunch to expect more details in the weeks to come.

Rock Band 4 making drum pedal optional

Harmonix has a big game update coming for Rock Band 4 on 8 December, which will add some features – and optionally remove one, too. After the update, players will be able to experience drums without the kick pedal, which will be automated in the songs.

Why can the kick pedal? It’s all about accessibility: people who struggle with coordination or a disability will be better able to enjoy the game, and Harmonix worked with the AbleGamers foundation to finally bring this option to the series. Kudos, all.

Read Only Memories is a super-cool cyberpunk adventure that recently hit PC and Mac, and now the indie team at MidBoss has announced plans to bring it to PlayStation 4 and Vita. There’s no word yet on a release target, but you can catch the trailer above.
