So you’d like to pack a video screening PMP in your tech bag but can’t stretch to a PSP or iPod, while at the same time your bank manager is sending friendly reminders about the level of your burgeoning overdraft. What is a gadget fan to do?Fear not our money-worried friend. We can still satisfy your video needs with this diddy, knockdown player from Genus. It may not have the largest of screens or the most capacious of hard disks but it’ll churn out four hours of video on its 2in TFT. It’ll even spill its wares on the big screen via TV hook-up, and in luscious 720×576 35fps DVD quality.Capacity is limited to just a single gig – good for a couple of hours of high quality DivX, MPEG4 or AVI if you fancy. Loading movies and clips from a PC is a drag-and-drop doddle, with no need to resize from the original. Nice.Naturally it’ll handle music in MP3, WMA or OGG, and act as a voice recorder. At this price, it’d be rude not to.
