On the list of silliest mobile phone gimmicks of 2007 it’s right up there with Samsung’s two-faced F300. But hidden behind the marketing guff and silly features of Sony Ericsson’s T650i is a seductive, slimline candybar. And it’s no slouch under the ‘growing green’ or ‘midnight blue’ retro shell. You’ll find a 3.2MP camera, A2DP Bluetooth, 3G and a scratch-proof mineral glass display to keep it all safe.Exclusive to the Carphone Warehouse, it’s apparently inspired by the ‘materials and colours found in the natural world’. By that we don’t suppose it means the roadkill and technicolour yawns that decorate the high street on Friday nights. What it does mean is that you get illumination effects on the keypad and around the sides of the phone that interact with animations on the screen. Within a couple of weeks you’ll be wondering what you did without them.Essentials Sony Ericsson T650i Price: from £free on contract On sale: Now Contact: Carphone Warehouse Related stories: Nokia dials 6555 for sensuous clamshell LG’s touchscreen U990 out in October Sony Ericsson debuts 770: a dapper slim snapper
