Google Chrome becomes world’s number one browser for a single day
The search giant's browser pipped its competition to the post for a day. Could it take the top spot permanently?
Google Chrome squeezed past main rivals Firefox and Internet Explorer on Sunday March 18th to become the world’s most used browser that day.
Website analytics company StatCounter who recorded the achievement noted that Chrome topped the polls in India, Russia and Brazil, which contributed to its number ones status.
Although Chrome only topped the charts for a day, there does tend to be a trend to use Chrome at the weekends when people are free to escape from office PC constraints and flex their surfing freedom.
Only time will tell if Chrome can topple Internet Explorer from atop its browser throne, but the big G should still be pleased with this step in the right direction nonetheless.
