Griffin’s venerable iPod and iPhone FM transmitter has just been updated and it’s really quite snazzy. The new Griffin iTrip is the first iPod/iPhone accessory with its own iPhone app to control it.

Buy the Griffin iTrip and install the iTrip Controller app on an iPhone or iPod Touch with iPhone OS 3.0 and you’ll be able to control the device straight from the screen.

The iTrip Controller app gives you access to tuning controls, station scanning and frequency selection.

The Griffin iTrip will sling audio to any nearby FM radio and stick track and artist information on the display if they’re RDS compatible. The LCD display is backlit and you can set 3 presets if you find some particularly clear frequencies.

The Griffin iTrip is out in October for £39.99 and the iTrip Controller is available in the iTunes App Store for free now.
