Gumball: the countdown

The sun is shining and the crowds are massing around the Gumball paddocks in Pall Mall. It’s about two minutes till drive-off and we’re surrounded by Pagani Zondas, Ferrari Dinos and the odd scantily clad lady. It’s a hard life.

Our faves on the grid have to be the Rolls-Royce Phantom, the numerous Ford GTs and the gorgeous Ferrari Dino. (It goes without saying that we’re quite keen on the Veyron, too). A couple of hours earlier all 250 Gumballers – including various celebrities and individuals with more money than your common or garden EU nation – had a briefing from the police about the perils of driving extravagantly. With cars like these, everyone’s going to have to show considerable restraint.

We can’t work out what we’re more excited about – the Xbox 360 with Guitar Hero II we have in the back seat, or the impending race off the start line.
