This guy took to the skies in a 54-propeller super drone
Well, that's one way to avoid traffic jams

Chalk this up as one of the crazy yet oddly practical things you can do with your drones.
One guy essentially grouped a swarm (yes, it’s that many) of drones together in order to fashion his own flying machine, powered by no fewer than 54 counter-rotation propellers. Sounds like a mess to control, but apparently it’s all good thanks to six grouped control channels and Hobbyking stabilisation.
Though from what we’ve seen in the video, it takes a tremendous amount of effort to keep the super drone stable while it hovered. This isn’t the flying car you’ve dreamed of piloting over your neighbours’ rooftops, as it hovers just a few metres above ground. Nor does it appear capable of flying in a straight line at a decent speed. But what it does do is look like a hell of a lot of fun. Just make sure you’re in the middle of a really, really big field if you ever get the chance to fly one.
If you’re looking for something that flies and is a little more practical, we suggest you check out our recent reviews of DJI’s latest camera-equipped quadcopter drones the Phantom 3 Standard and Phantom 3 Professional. Much cheaper, much easier to fly and much less likely to get you arrested.
