HTC One M10 slated for 11 April launch
M9 owners hankering for an HTC upgrade will have to wait a fair bit longer
The HTC One M10, codenamed Perfume, might have a launch date.
According to the latest rumour courtesy of Portuguese site 4gnews, the One M10 will be launched at an event on 11 April – nearly two months after both the Galaxy S7 and LG G5 are revealed at MWC in Barcelona.
On the one hand (if true), this means that HTC’s flagship will stand out and have all the limelight to itself. On the other hand, it might be too late – people could be walking around with rival handsets in their pockets already.
The One M10 needs something special to overthrow the might of Samsung, whose Galaxy S6 pretty much stole the smartphone show last year, along with the like of the iPhone 6s and LG G4.
HTC’s upcoming flagship has been rumoured to have a 5.1in 2K display, along with a new Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, 4GB of RAM, and Android 6.0 Marshmallow, while ditching the front-facing BoomSound speakers.
HTC could make a return to its UltraPixel rear camera technology too, with a 12MP camera apparently on the cards.
We expect more leaks over the next few weeks, so stay tuned.
