From ugly duckling to graceful swan, the UMPC format is finally coming of age. First Samsung brought some much needed design tweaks to its Q1, redubbed the Q1 Ultra, and now HTC has turned its attention from churning out record numbers of smartphone models to producing this beauty – the Shift.Equipped with a 7in tilting touchscreen, a 30GB hard drive, HSDPA and Wi-Fi, it takes the form factor of HTC’s T-Mobile branded Ameo and swaps its Windows Mobile for full-fat Windows Vista Business Edition. We’ll get the full spec, and pricing details, later in the year. For now we can just drool longingly at the pics while Samsung retreats to the corner.
