Hyundai MB-910 – another watchphone vying for your wrist

The LG GD910 isn’t going to be the only watchphone going on sale in the UK this year. The latest company trying to turn us all into Dick Tracy is Hyundai, which has obviously been taking a break from making cars in order to create the MB-910, a touchscreen-toting watch with a tri-band GSM/GPRS mobile phone built in.

The MB-910 doesn’t sport the level of spec or features seen on LG’s watchphone (there’s no video calling here), but it has the basics covered: you can text, watch videos, browse web via WAP (remember that?) and chat wirelessly thanks to Bluetooth. Oh, and there are polyphonic ringtones too!

While Hyundai’s effort may seem a tad more bargain basement than LG’s, that reflected in the price tag: it’s expected to cost around £200 (as opposed to the LG’s £500-£1,000 we’ve seen suggested for the GD910) when it goes on sale this spring.

What do you think? Neat convergence idea or utter waste of time (geddit?). Let us know below
