The iPad Pro will reportedly go on sale on 11 November

Apple's autumn device release barrage continues in a couple weeks

The new Apple TV just hit stores yesterday, but already we can look ahead to the release of Apple’s next big device. Previously pegged for sometime in November, we apparently have a date for the iPad Pro now.

And that date is 11 November, according to 9to5Mac. The site, a consistent source for correct Apple leaks, says that Apple intends to have the extra-large tablet available via both retail stores and web on that date, although it’s not clear if Apple will do a round of online pre-orders first.

The iPad Pro is, of course, the super-sized version of Apple’s familiar tablet. It has a 12.9in Retina display at 2732×2048 (264ppi) and an A9X 64-bit chip inside, along with a 10-hour battery, 32GB and 128GB storage options, and optional LTE support. The iPad Pro also works with the new Apple Pencil stylus and the Surface-like Smart Keyboard attachment.

Interesting note about the Pencil, however: it has a Lightning connector, so you can charge it by plugging it directly into the iPad Pro’s charging port. But if you want to charge it with a USB-to-Lightning cable with a power adapter or on your laptop? You’ll need a special adapter, which 9to5Mac also uncovered (seen above). It’s not clear whether that adapter will be bundled with the Pencil or sold separately, however.

Apple hasn’t officially announced UK pricing for the iPad Pro, although the 32GB Wi-Fi model is priced at US$799 (about £515) in the States, while the 128GB version is US$949 (about £615). Expect the actual UK prices to be a fair bit more than those straight conversions, based on usual Apple pricing.
