LG G5 leak points to a 5.6in 2K screen and plenty of power
It could be out as early as February too
Not content with iPhone 8 and Galaxy S7 rumours? You’re in luck.
The LG G5 is the latest future flagship that’s taken centre stage in the online gossip show, as its specs have recently been leaked (and subsequently taken down) on Chinese site Weibo.
If they’re true, we can expect to see a slightly larger 5.6in 2K display, along with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 processor. That’s the same chip we expect to see in the Samsung Galaxy S7 (or at least, in some variants of it), and leaked benchmark results for the processor look very promising indeed.
We expect to see 3-4GB of RAM, though we’re betting that LG will opt for the latter, to match the likes of the Galaxy Note 5.
A 21MP camera is also apparently on the cards which could point to a Sony sensor being the imaging snapper of choice.
There’s no word on battery capacity, though past whispers have suggested an all-metal build, which could spell the end of the removable battery and microSD slot.
The fact that the tipster suggests that the G5 could get a February release makes us quite skeptical however, as that’s a fair few months earlier than the past G3 and G4 launches.
We expect to hear more on the G5 over the next few months, and should have a better idea of the facts as Mobile World Congress approaches.
