LittleBigPlanet announcement coming next month

Sony has got something tucked up its sleeve for LittleBigPlanet on the 18 August, but it's being a tease and keeping schtum as to what it is.In a post

In a post on the SCEE blog, senior product manager Nick Robinson dropped the date in at the end of a post announcing the game had clocked up one million user-created levels.

Even more impressive, these one million levels have managed to rack up 244 million plays since its release in late 2008.

However, it was Robinson’s tease at the end of the post that caught the most attention asking those who hadn’t played the game before if they felt they were missing out.

“If you aren’t sure, then can I suggest you check back on this blog around the 18th August? We might have something for you…”, he wrote.

As one of the commenters pointed out, this date is the first date of German gaming expo Gamescom, so a big announcement is more than viable. We already know we’ll be seeing LBP on the PSP, so we could hear more details on that, but we’d expect to hear about something completely new as well.

We’ve got the date in our diary and will be keeping our eyes peeled for any news from the Sony camp. Keep it locked to Stuff.tv for the latest and let us know what you hope Sony has planned for the game below.
