Metallica to release ninth album through Guitar Hero III

To say we quite like Metallica here at Stuff would be akin to saying we’re rather fond of gadgets, so when we heard about 2009’s Guitar Hero Metallica edition we were greasing our freboards in anticipation. But you can’t wait for next year for the whole Metallica oeuvre, then you can get your thrash fix this Friday when the band release Death Magnetic in its entirety as downloadable content for Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock.

Download the album through your console and you’ll be treated to two exclusive renditions of ‘Suicide & Redemption’ with extend solos by James Hetfield and Kirk Hammett. Best of all, the songs are forward compatible so when Guitar Hero: World Tour launches this October you better start looking for your own Robert Trujillo and Lars Ulrich to complete the band.
