New Canon Powershot SX150 IS point and shooter
This 12x optical zoom snapper gets welcomed into the Powershot fold
No sooner have we partied like its World Photography Day than Canon decides to present us with a trio of cameras to prolong the celebrations. First up, the Powershot SX150 IS with a 14.1MP sensor and 720p HD video skills. On the front is a 12x optical zoom lens for great closeups as well as 28mm wide-angle shots, all improved by Canon’s new camera-shake thwarting IS system.
If you prefer to tinker, there’s full manual control – just in case none of the 32 Smart Auto scene settings are quite right – plus a range of the usual fun filters like Fish-eye, Toy Camera and Miniature effects. The inevitable hilarity that will follow can be reviewed on the 3in LCD screen round the back.
The SX150 IS will set you back £199 when it lands in September, but remember to put some pennies aside for the compatible HF-DC2 external flash unit, also winging its way to us this Autumn.
