New detailed Samsung Galaxy S7 render lacks a microSD slot
Potentially bad news for media hoarders
High quality renders of the Samsung Galaxy S7 have appeared online and, well, it looks almost identical to the current Galaxy S6.
The renders come courtesy of uSwitch and seasoned leaker @OnLeaks, showing off a handset which many Android fans will be more than a little familiar with.
The render matches up with a recent third-party case company’s design, in that a more rectangular home button can be seen, while the SIM slot has shifted to a lower position.
Media fans will be sad to note that a microSD slot once again appears to be missing, which suggests that Samsung is sticking with its internal storage guns.
A USB Type-C port is also absent, with a regular microUSB offering clearly present on the bottom, next to the microphone and drilled speaker holes.
One again, a Samsung Galaxy S7 Plus is also mentioned, and it’s expected to land with a larger 6in display. The likelihood of a curved edge display coming as standard has lowered even further, as this recent leak also suggests a standard flat screen will be used.
Specs aren’t mentioned, but we’ve heard rumours of Samsung using both the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 and its own Exynos processors in different regional versions of the device.
