New leaks show no expandable storage for the Samsung Galaxy Note 5

You hear that? That's the sound of your microSD card weeping

New and reportedly genuine photos of the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 match previous rumours that state that the microSD slot is no more.

If true, it means that all you music, film and game lovers will have to shell out more for internal storage which, according to DroidLife will be available in 32GB, 64GB and 128GB options.

The upside of this lack of expandable memory is that the Note 5 appears to have a premium new design, with sealed metal and glass panels, Samsung Galaxy S6-style.

The rear glass panel isn’t removable, which means there’ll be no removable battery either – a first for a Note device.

The Note 5 pictured is said to have a 3,000mAh battery which is the same as last year’s Chinese variant – but less than the 3,220mAh battery found in the global version.

One thing that Samsung has kept is its popular S Pen stylus, which can be seen to slot in flush with the metal edge of the device. The new Note 5 will hopefully come with the newly patented magnetic technology that allows the S Pen to automatically eject itself when it’s needed too.

Whether or not these rumours prove to be true remains to be seen, but we don’t have too long to wait now. Samsung’s Unpacked event is scheduled for August 13th, where all questions about the Note 5 and the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus will be answered.
