Panasonic unveils TZ7 hi–def compact camera

Panasonic's compact cameras don't tend to disappoint those looking for sharp looks and more features than a Sunday newspaper. And once again Panny has

The big talking point is the inclusion of AVCHD ‘Lite’, letting you record flicks in glorious 720p on your snapper. While HD on a camera’s nothing new, the AVCHD format means you can double the recording capacity, so you can work up even longer home movies.

Panny’s Intelligent Auto mode has also been added to movie mode, offering you better image stabilsation, intelligent scene selection and face detection to suit the scene you’re shooting.

And don’t forget gadget fans that we’re talking about a fully specced compact digicam here. You get an excellent 25mm wide angle lens, a whacking 12x optical zoom, 10.1MP and the same dual core processor found in the top notch Panasonic G1.

It’s due in April in silver, black and brown, with a specced down TZ6, without AVCHD, coming at the same time.
