Philips flashes sleek GoGears

The mini flash player market is more crowded than the Central line at rush hour, but that hasn’t put Philips off – it’s announced a new range of Nano hitmen.

The SA9100 and SA9200 certainly have attractive CVs – there’s respective storage of 1GB and 2GB, PlaysForSure accreditation for Napster downloading and solid 14-hour battery lives.

We’re big fans of the hard-drive HDD1620’s blue backlighting and touch-screen, and it looks like these two are carrying on the family tradition nicely.

Only one of the twins will be making the demanding voyage over to the UK, though. The 2GB SA9200 will be available from August – the price isn’t yet known, but its US tag is $200 (£110). Add a few quid for the UK’s rip-off tax, and the price should be about the same as Samsung’s YP-Z5.
