Philips offers choice of passive or active 3D
…or Easy 3D and 3D Max, as Philips is calling them
Philips has joined LG in offering TVs with either passive (cheap, non-battery glasses) or active (battery-powered glasses) 3D flavours.
They’re touting 3D Max, the active, battery-glasses option, as the one for the proper film buffs who want the best experience.
The amazing Cinema 21:9 TV will soon be split into two editions: the Gold series with Easy 3D, and Platinum series with 3D Max.
Philips is also building 2D-to-3D conversion into some of its tellies. Hopefully we’ll get to see a demo of Charlie Chaplin being chased out of the screen.
