6.2mm ZTE Athena gunning for “world’s thinnest smartphone” title
Chinese manufacturer ZTE teases absurdly thin smartie that makes the Motorola RAZR look like a brick
ZTE looks set to nab the “world’s thinnest smartphone” crown with its forthcoming phone, codenamed Athena.
The Athena, teased in a series of snaps on China’s Sina Weibo social network, is reportedly a mere 6.2mm thick – making the 6.68mm Huawei Ascend P1 S and 6.65mm thick Oppo Finder look positively blocky by comparison. And the less said about the 7.1mm thick Motorola RAZR the better.
ZTE’s keeping schtum on the Athena’s detailed specs for the time being, but has revealed that it will come packing a 720p display, multi-core Cortex-A15 processor and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, with up to 64GB of storage.
That’s plenty of grunt to pack into such a small space – we’re looking forward to finding out how ZTE’s done it. More news as and when we get it.
