Nokia announces a trio of Symbian Belle smartphones

Meet the Finnish trio that promise to be the smallest, brightest and loudest in their class

Although it’s only been a few months since Symbian Anna hit the wild, Nokia has already updated its long-running OS with yet another iteration – Symbian Belle. The new OS offers a host of tweaks and improvements, including NFC-pairing support and Android-like drop notifications and will launch on three shiny new handsets, the 700, 701 and 600.

The 700 will be the dinkiest offering in the Symbian range, weighing in at a mere 96g and will feature a 3.2in AMOLED touchscreen, 5MP camera and 2GB of internal memory.

The 701’s party trick is it’s bright screen – so bright in fact that Nokia is confident enough to call it the world’s brightest mobile display – a claim we look forward to testing. The 8GB of storage should be plenty to deal with the 8MP photos snapped with the dual LED-toting camera.

Last up to bat is the 600, which will be available at a lower price point than its two brothers and also has a 5MP snapper. Boasting the claim of being the company’s loudest smartphone, it looks set to target music lovers who will also appreciate the impressive 60 hours of music playback time.

All three devices feature 1GHz processors as well as nifty NFC technology which allows them to easily pair with speakers and headsets as well as sharing content between other devices. Whichever one take your fancy, we’ll let you know the release and pricing info the moment we have it.
