Supertroll LG trumps Times Square Samsung Galaxy S4 ads

LG’s sneakily-placed Optimus G billboard shows that the Korean rivals can’t stop from poking each other

Samsung’s recent spats with Apple have become legendary, but the company’s oldest enemy is its Korean compatriot LG. The two electronics manufacturers have a long history of competition and snarky behaviour towards each other, and that manifested again this week in New York’s Times Square.

Samsung, which will be live broadcasting its Galaxy S4 launch in Times Square later today, has splashed out on a giant ad urging consumers to “Be Ready 4 The Next Galaxy”. Seeing this, cheeky old LG has used the (larger) ad space just above that to tell the world that the “LG Optimus G is here 4 you now”. Hahahaha, LG, you’re such a card.

We’re going to go out on a limb and say the Samsung Galaxy S4 will be a more impressive phone than the LG Optimus G, but kudos to LG for some top trolling.
