Take a memory stick shaped digital TV tuner and add some memory to it – genius. But there’s more to Pinnacle’s PCTV DVB-T Flash Stick than just a slender digi box with a flash drive tabbed on.By pre-loading all the drivers and recording software to its own memory, it’s up and running the minute it’s plugged into any USB port, no tedious installation required. The 1GB capacity is also good for a programme or two’s worth of MPEG2 or DivX so you can take your recordings with you. It also manages the usual pausing of live TV and time shifting shenanigans are on board too.It scores extra portability points with its sensibly sized mini remote, though you’ll still have to cart around a ‘mini’ antenna for reception. It’s PC only but Mac fans shouldn’t feel too left out; Pinnacle’s also announced two new Apple-friendly tuners – a digital DVB model and a digital/analogue Hybrid. They even come in white – how original.
