Put that phablet away: Huawei TalkBand B1 straps a detachable Bluetooth headset to your wrist
Huawei's fitness band hits UK shelves, saves gigantaphone users from phone call embarrassment
Huawei has announced that its TalkBand B1 fitness tracker/headset hybrid has landed in the UK.
Unlike feature-packed smartwatches like the Android Wear-powered LG G watch or Samsung’s Gear 2, the TalkBand keeps things simple.
While you can’t use it find your way to the nearest cocktail bar or take spy shots of squirrels, you can use it to track your steps and exercise stats, including how many calories you’ve burned.
It’s also got basic notification support, letting you know when you’ve got messages and emails, and you can also filter incoming calls.
When you receive a call, you don’t have to slip your over-sized smartphone out of your pocket either. Nor will you be forced to chat into your wrist Dick Tracy-style.
Instead, the Talkband’s curved 1.4in OLED screen detaches from the wristband, revealing its true bluetooth headset form. Slip it into your ear, and bam – you’re nattering away, hands-free, like a business guy from the early 2000s.
The wristband also doubles up as a USB charging cable, so once the six-day battery life conks out, you can top it up without too much hassle.
If you fancy tracking steps and chatting away into a headset then you can pick up the Talkband B1 from Amazon today, for £100.
