Samsung’s Exynos 5 processor will make your Samsung Galaxy S3 jealous

Samsung lifts the lid on the Usain Bolt of mobile processors, the Exynos 5 Dual. We cheer from trackside

Samsung has lifted the lid off its next generation Exynos 5 Dual processor, and it has a spec sheet that’s sure to get techheads salivating.

The new 1.7GHz dual-core processor has enough grunt to support a massive 2560×1600 resolution (which nicely matches up with the display of the rumoured 11.8in Samsung P10 tablet) as well as dealing with 1080p 60fps video and 3D graphics.

USB 3.0, SATA 3 and wireless display support practically throw the Exynos 5 into full-blown PC territory, and all while knocking power consumption down by 30 per cent.

It’s too early to tell which products will be getting a taste of Sammy’s latest silicon, but we’re looking forward to testing out its power on future releases.
