Subject to more speculation than Beckham’s phone bill, the long-awaited PS3 has finally been granted an official UK release date and price and, yes folks, as previously reported on Stuff.tv, it is March 23 and it will cost £425.Sony has also confirmed that only the 60GB units will be available at launch, with cheaper 20GB units, sans Wi-fi, appearing sometime later in the year if there is a market for them.Perhaps the best news is the tasty array of games available from the off – some 30 titles, including Resistance: Fall of Man, MotorStorm, Genji: Days of the Blade and Ridge Racer 7. Further gaming pleasure can also be gleaned from downloadable debuts on Playstation Network, including Tekken: Dark Resurrection and Gran Turismo HD Concept – a version of Gran Turismo realised with full 1080p quality.Gamers who want to see those hi-def graphics at their finest, however, will have to shell out for a separate HDMI cable, as the console won’t ship with a supplied one.Sony is hoping to avoid a repeat performance of Nintendo’s Wii supply-chain problems by providing a million consoles for initial launch in Europe – but frankly, we’re dusting off our sleeping bags already…
