Owners of Sony eBook Readers will have their work cut out for them this summer, as the company has announced a tie-in with Google Books to make more than 500,000 new titles available from its massive public domain book collection.
All the titles were originally published before 1923, and will include a selection of fiction and non-fiction works, all of which will be optimised for the current Sony Readers on the market – the PRS-505 or PRS-700.
As Amazon’s Kindle eBook competitor currently offers around 250,000 books right now, it looks as if Sony has upped the stakes in the eBook game.
