Sony Xperia S gets Ice Cream Sandwich update

Sony's flagship phone joins the Android 4.0 club with some tempting new features along for the ride

Sticking by Sony’s side in the smartphone war? You’ll be glad to know that Android 4.0.4, Ice Cream Sandwich, is now rolling out to Sony’s sexy Xperia S handsets with resizable widgets, Recent Apps and tweaks to the lock screen like quick access to the camera and Face Unlock.

Sony has also bundled some new multimedia perks into the 200MB download – the Walkman app now has album art and Facebook integration plus there’s a new Album app for showcasing those sharp, 12MP snaps and a Movies app for streaming on the Xperia S’ glorious 4.3in 720p screen.

So sit tight, as the rollout is scheduled to take place over the next couple of weeks – it’ll depend on your network but you’ll get a notification when the ICS upgrade is ready.
