AmpliTube Slash app takes you down to Paradise City
Get the Guns N' Roses guitarist's amps and effects on your iPhone or iPad and ride the Nightrain
Guns N’ Roses guitar hero Slash has lent his name to dozens of signature axes and amps over the years – now he’s got a signature app. IK Multimedia’s AmpliTube Slash lets amateur axemen recreate Slash’s distinctive guitar tone with digital recreations of his amp and effects setup.
Available as for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad, and on Macs and PCs, the AmpliTube Slash app features models of Slash’s Marshall amplifiers, the JCM Slash Edition Silver Jubilee and the Marshall AFD100, along with his signature stompbox effects – Delay, Gate, Octave/Fuzz, Chorus, Booster and Wah/Distortion.
Also included in the app are presets that let you duplicate Slash’s tone from GN’R and Velvet Revolver classics including Welcome to the Jungle, Paradise City and Sweet Child O’Mine. Plus you get AmpliTube’s multi-track recording studio, along with a song player that lets you play along to tunes, slow them down and loop them for practice sessions.
AmpliTube Slash is available for £6.99, from the App Store as a standalone purchase or as an in-app purchase for existing AmpliTube users. Individual models from the app are also available as AmpliTube in-app purchases.
Sadly the AmpliTube Slash app will only make you sound like the top-hatted guitar god – it won’t help you play like him. Don’t cry. You just need a little patience.
