US$99 Xbox 360 hits the US
Microsoft’s console bundle available for US$99 up front and a US$15 monthly fee
Microsoft has released a subscription-based Xbox 360 bundle that delivers HD gaming thrills at a cheaper price. Well, sort of.
Available at 21 US-based Microsoft Stores, the 4GB Xbox/Kinect bundle costs US$99 (around £60) up front. Customers must also commit to a 24-month Xbox Live Gold subscription at US$15 (around £10) per month.
As Kotaku points out, that’s a total of US$459, as opposed to US$420 if you paid full price for the Xbox 360 console, Kinect and two years of Xbox Live Gold. So this deal is actually pricier in the long run.
