Waterproof Samsung Galaxy S6 Active is on the way
Xtreme sport junkies and butter-fingered gadgeteers take note
Another day, another Samsung smartphone leak.
This time it looks like the Galaxy S5 Active is getting an update ahead of the upcoming Galaxy S6’s release date. The Active line, with its waterproof and dustproof features, is aimed at users who want their phones to withstand the various beatings that life can throw at it.
While it seems pretty certain that the S6 Active is coming, the leaks haven’t quite been consistent. A few days ago, it was said to have a 5.5-inch screen but the latest claim is that it will have the same 5.1-inch QHD (2,560 x 1,440) panel as the Samsung Galaxy S6.
The S6 Active will also apparently share the same Samsung Exynos 7420 processor as its S6 brother, along with 3GB of RAM, 32GB of internal memory and a 16MP rear camera and a 5MP front-facing offering.
One notable difference, however, is the 3,500 mAh battery. It’s much larger than the other S6 models and even bigger than the Galaxy Note’s, which could be tempting for power users.
Stay tuned for more info as and when we get it.
