Microsoft looking to integrate its platforms by bringing Xbox onto Windows 8 PCs from launch day

Microsoft has revealed a list of Xbox games that will be available for Windows 8 from October 26th. The first wave of 40 titles (full list here) generally consists of casual fare, and are either ported direct from the existing Xbox 360 version or improved in some way.

Games include Angry Birds, Cut the Rope, Fruit Ninja, Dragon’s Lair and (yay!) Minesweeper. All games will have achievements, and some will support multiplayer, friend connections and Xbox leaderboards. The idea is that you might own both a Windows 8 PC and an Xbox (and most likely a Windows Phone) and be able to play the same games across both platforms.
