Worms HD has just popped up on the App Store, allowing iPad owners to get a taste of high resolution annelid-on-annelid action on their new device.

The iPad version of the gaming classic sports 1024×768 graphics alongside multi-touch controls and a screen orientation feature that lets you plonk your iPad on the coffee table and have it flip its screen mode after each turn – so you don’t even have to spin the iPad for your mate to have a turn.

There are 26 weapons and other tools, 10 game modes, six backdrop themes with thousands of randomly generated levels, support for up to four players and 50 challenges.

You can download Worms HD from the App Store now for £3.
