Introduction

Robot vacuums have come a long way, and the Eufy Omni S1 Pro is up there with some of the best I’ve tested. This isn’t your average “set it and forget it” cleaner – it’s an all-in-one system that vacuums, mops, and even self-cleans. The Omni S1 Pro is aimed squarely at people who want spotless floors without lifting a finger – and with deep pockets, given it starts at $1499/£1499.

From ozonated water for hygienic mopping to a self-drying mop dock that prevents odours, this vacuum is packed with high-tech features. But does it live up to its promises, or is it just an expensive gimmick? I put it through its paces to find out.

How we test kitchen and cleaning tech

Every vacuum cleaner, coffee machine and kitchen/cleaning gadget reviewed on Stuff is put through a battery of tests before we give our final verdict and star rating. We use our own years of experience to judge general performance, battery life, ease of use and value for money. Manufacturers have no visibility on reviews before they appear online, and we never accept payment to feature products.

Design & Build: Big and bold

The Omni S1 Pro makes a statement the moment you set it up. Its base station isn’t just a charging dock – it’s a full-on cleaning hub. This dock houses clean and dirty water tanks, a dustbin, and a mop-drying system. At 67cm tall, it’s undeniably bulky and an awkward size, but Eufy has designed it to be as user-friendly as possible. The water tanks are easy to remove and refill, and the dirty water tank seals tightly to keep odours at bay.

The robot itself is slightly taller than average, which might limit its ability to clean under low furniture, but it feels robust and well-made. Flip it over, and you’ll find a rotating mop, dual spinning brushes for corners, and a rubber roller brush for debris collection. Voice alerts are a nice touch, letting you know when components need attention. Although, I can equally see why these might get old quickly.

Features: High-tech hygiene

The Omni S1 Pro is packed with features designed to make your life easier. Its ozonated water system sets it apart, killing bacteria without the need for harsh chemicals. This makes it a great choice for households with kids or pets. The mopping system is also a standout, with a 170 RPM rotating mop that applies 2.2lbs of pressure to scrub floors thoroughly.

Navigation is handled by a LiDAR system paired with Eufy’s 3D MatrixEye sensor, allowing the robot to map your home with precision and avoid obstacles like cables and shoes. It even creates a digital map in the app, where you can set no-go zones or customise cleaning schedules. I quite like the fact that it’ll show you obstacles it came across on the map (it does a good job of this), and tries to guess what they are (it’s not so good at this bit).

The self-emptying system is convenient, but occasionally leaves debris behind, which can spill out if not handled carefully. I’ve also noticed the vac isn’t perfect at knowing when to empty, and dust bunnies have come shooting out the back like rabbit droppings. Annoying to clean up, and annoying to come up with a metaphor for.

Performance: A mopping master

Eufy S1 Pro Omni cleaning parts

When it comes to mopping, the Omni S1 Pro is in a league of its own. It leaves hard floors spotless, applying just the right amount of water to avoid streaks or puddles. I’ve seen this thing scrub up some pretty heavy spills and lift up some dried on stains that take a bit of scrubbing.

The mop-drying system is a game-changer, keeping everything hygienic and odour-free, although the base station then takes a while to dry the mop – we’re talking a good few hours.

Vacuuming is really good for the most part, but not exceptional. While it handles hard floors well, it struggles with thicker carpets and fine debris. Things like hairs or fake Christmas tree pines aren’t always picked up on the first run. To combat this, I’ve whacked the suction power up to the Max setting, and tell it to do two runs. With these settings, I get almost flawless pick up – it just takes twice as long.

Thresholds can also be tricky unless you disable the Visual Anti-Drop feature in the app. This adds another layer of convenience, with intuitive controls and plenty of customisation options.

Battery life is excellent, allowing the robot to clean large homes on a single charge. Although, if you’ve ramped up the suction power (like me) and ask it to do multiple runs, you’ll eat through the battery quicker.

Eufy Omni S1 Pro verdict

Eufy Omni S1 Pro Review

The Eufy Omni S1 Pro is a premium robot cleaner that excels at mopping and daily maintenance. While its vacuuming could use a little more power, its hygienic features and user-friendly design make it a standout choice for homes with hard floors.

If you’re away from home enough to let it run every day, it’s an easy recommendation – but occasional home workers might want something with a little more suction.
