Garmin StreetPilot c310 review
The c310 is a doppelgänger for TomTom’s One with a large touchscreen and UK and European maps loaded onto an SD card
A doppelgänger for TomTom’s One, the c310 is a neat and tidy device. Its large touchscreen, with a 320x240pixel LCD, is nice and bright – so there will be plenty of eye candy to keep back seat drivers occupied.
Get your maps out
UK and major European roads’ maps are loaded onto an SD card, and getting started is quick and speedy with easy route planning via the intuitive menu system. Plus, the cradle system is very sturdy.
The downside is that the voice commands have an annoying tinny quality and come prematurely. At one point it told us to turn left when we stopped at traffic lights, but didn’t repeat the command at the actual turn.
Unfortunately, Garmin’s expertise with outdoors GPS doesn’t seem to stand it in good stead with the in-car crowd. This number wouldn’t be top of our Christmas list.
