Rumour – Nokia PureView Windows Phone on the way
The smartphone is codenamed “EOS” and features a similar camera to the Nokia 808 PureView, say bean-spillers
Nokia is working on a Windows Phone with PureView camera technology, according to internet rumours.
The Verge has learned (from “sources familiar with Nokia’s plans”) that the smartphone, codenamed EOS, will feature a similar sensor to that on the Nokia 808 PureView.
That’s exciting stuff, because we were mightily impressed by the 808’s 41MP photo skills – but it was held back by its Symbian operating system. Putting that camera tech in a Windows Phone 8 phone, on the other hand…
The EOS will be a high-end Lumia phone constructed from aluminium rather than the range’s favoured polycarbonate, the report continues. It’ll be released this year at some point (we’re betting on the autumn).
