Sony unveils Xperia Z2, Xperia M2 and Xperia Z2 Tablet
Sony kicks off Mobile World Congress with a triple whammy of mobile tech
Sony has unveiled three new mobile devices at Mobile World Congress 2014: the Xperia Z2 and Xperia M2 smartphones and the Xperia Z2 Tablet.
The Xperia M2 is a new mid-range model, while the Xperia Z2 Tablet is Sony’s new top of the range 10.1in slate.
You can read all about the Xperia Z2, the company’s new flagship phone, in our dedicated 10 things you need to know article and check out our initial impressions in our hands-on here.
Likewise, we had a chance to play with the Xperia Z2 Tablet too, and you’ll find our hands-on with that here.
Xperia M2: high-end features for mid-range price
But what of the Xperia M2? Well, as we say it’s a mid-range model (Sony hasn’t revealed the price, but says it will be “affordable”) but offers some decidedly impressive specs, at least on paper: there’s a quad-core 1.2GHz Snapdragon 400 CPU, 4.8in qHD screen, 4G LTE, and an 8MP Exmor RS camera. There’ll also be a dual-SIM variant of the M2 named, appropriately enough, the Xperia M2dual. This model is available in 3G only.
Sony says the Xperia M2 will be available worldwide from April 2014.
