Sony KDL-32HX753 review
Can Sony recreate the magic of its bigger TV sets further down the screen size scale? We test the 32in HX753 to find out
Sony’s premium 800-series sets – like the HX853 – have rightly attracted a lot of praise, but the other end of the company’s 2012 line-up is just as talented: the KDL-32HX753 brings some of the high-end picture-enhancing tech employed by its bigger brothers down to a much more affordable price.
picture quality
With a 200Hz screen refresh – switching to 240Hz for 3D – it places special emphasis on smooth, judder-free motion, while its Freeview HD tuner is a delight, consistently delivering exceptional clarity and sharpness.
smart TV features
The smart TV package is well up to par too with all the smart features of its larger stablemates like the Sony KDL-46HX853 at No.1. You’ll find an excellent selection of TV streaming services (including BBC iPlayer and Demand5) plus LoveFilm, Netflix and Sony’s own Entertainment Network.
verdict
The Sony HX753 means you needn’t compromise on spec just because you’ve opted for a smaller 32in screen – our Top Ten TVs list isn’t just populated with mammoth sets, there’s also room for the likes of this superb smaller telly.
