Sony Cyber-shot HX50 is the world’s smallest 30x zoom camera
No longer will you have to choose between big zoom weight and pocket friendly snapper – Sony has found the middle ground
Sony has unveiled the world’s smallest and lightest 30x zoom camera – the Cyber-shot HX50. For the more technically-minded, that’s a 24-720mm lens and optical SteadyShot image stabilisation – in your pocket.
The HX50 comes with a 20.4MP Exmor R image sensor that’ll manage a most capable ISO 12,800. Of course there’s the usual 3in LCD and mode dial – but Sony has also squeezed on a dedicated exposure compensation dial. Plus there’s 1080p video, built-in Wi-Fi and a battery good for 400 shots. All that adds up to a £350 ticket when it launches in May. Will your pocket be expecting a new guest soon?
