We’re still smitten with the sexy new 8GB version of the Nokia N95, but the Finns have just announced its official replacement – the Nokia N96.

We’ll have full coverage very soon, but suffice to say it’s one seriously smart smartphone. The N95 features a similar form factor to the N96 but packs in a heart-stopping 16GB of solid state storage plus a microSD card slot – eat that, iPhone.

It’ll also feaure a DVB-H TV tuner – which is pretty useless in the UK, at least until all our analogue signals are switched off in 2012 – plus N-Gage gaming controls, a 5MP camera and HSDPA.

Like the lovely looking Sony Ericsson W980, the N96 won’t be with us until the third quarter. Man, waiting sucks.
