Stuff’s Gadget of the Year, the Eee PC 901, has had more makeovers than West Ham have had record fines. And Asus are sticking with the theme, officially confirming a 3G edition of the award–winning lappie.
The new device will rock HSUPA (or 3.75G), so you can get online anywhere, depending on what data package you’ve signed your life away for. You’ll get download speeds of up to 7.2Mbps, with 2.2Mbps uploading.
Other than that, we’re still looking at the same 8.9in screen, lengthy battery life and Linux or XP variations. 3.75G will take a bow in the 901 from October.
There’s no word on how much extra this will cost, but expect it to be a tad higher than the average model. And don’t be surprised if it starts to be offered on contract either. For the best mini–laptop deals, make sure you check out our best free netbook deals feature.
