Orange San Diego release date and price revealed
The UK's first Intel-powered smartphone is set to land with a wallet-friendly price tag and a hefty battery life to boot
Intel has announced that the first UK phone to be powered by its Medfield processor – the Orange San Diego – will be released on June 6th.
The Orange San Diego (previously known as the Orange Santa Clara) will be packing Intel’s 1.6Ghz Atom processor, along with a 1024×600 screen and 8MP camera with 1080p video recording.
16GB of onboard storage, NFC technology and an impressive 14 days of standby time round off the spec sheet, which is made all the sweeter by a launch price of only £200 when bought with £10 PAYG credit.
You can also nab the Orange San Diego for free, on a two-year £15.50 per month contract, and Intel and Orange assure us that there’ll be an update to Ice Cream Sandwich for the Gingerbread-powered phone in the near future.
